GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications. This is one of the most well known standards for mobile communications service made available to phones. This way the mobile network roams around freely in search of new network, rather than sticking to just one location.

GSM phones are widely used by people all around the world, due to its international roaming efficiency. This technology used in mobiles is also said to be a second generation technology which has created a name for itself and provide a value for money. GSM Mobiles have proved to be highly significant for not only the network operators, who get to select hardware or equipments from various GSM service providers but also to the buyers or the individuals to get to enjoy the multi-utility of these phones by getting to roam all over the world with just one phone, unlike the earlier days, when people had to replace phones whenever it came to traveling.

Apart from that a <a href="http://cellphonefamilyplansinfo.com/gsm-cell-phone/"title="" >GSM cell phone is designed to provide maximum amount of security, where all the data related to the phone user is protected. The additional benefit that one gets to enjoy with a GSM phone is the accessibility of Sim Card. Sim card is a small chip which can be used in any GSM phones and thus helps save the personal information of the user in any GSM phone that he carries. This way a phone user doesn’t need to re-type his personal information again and again, in case he plans to change the hand sets.

Throughout Europe as well as Asia, GSM phones are used by almost everyone. The concept of SMSing or sending text messages has also become popular just because of the acceptance of this technology. And hence, these phones are on the verge of becoming popular even in North America. Many cell phone companies are into these phones nowadays.

Companies including Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, LG, Apple, HP, Toshiba, Blackberry, Sharp, Orion, Sony, Huawei etc have adapted the GSM technology after looking at its growth potential and efficiency in today’s market. Almost all phones manufactured by these companies have GSM technology and hence these phones are preferred by many people due to its roaming adaptability all over the world. Few of the well known brands that use the GSM technology area as follows: * Nokia E63-1 Quad Band * Samsung-20N * Siemens CF62 * Nokia 5230 * BlackBerry OS 6 * Motorola MT820 * Motorola V555 * Huawei E156G

I’m really happy with Sprint’s family plans. I had AT&T for years and finally, after my iPhone was unable to get 3G service for the hundredth time, I switched the entire family over to Sprint. I was sad to lose my iPhone (they’re such <a href="http://cellphonefamilyplansinfo.com/cool-cell-phones/"title="" >cool cell phones!), but happy to get a phone that actually worked. We all kept our numbers and the kids were happy to get new phones.

One thing that I really like about Sprint is that they have more than one family plan! It’s nice to be able to take into account everyone’s usage patterns when making a decision on which plan to get. I use a smart phone, my husband uses a blackberry, my daughter is a phone-a-holic (she’s 15) and my son never uses his cell phone (we got it for him for emergencies), putting all of this on one plan didn’t look to be an easy task.

But, I did my research on the various plans on the web and then went into a Sprint store. The salesman could not have been nicer. He asked about all four of our usage patterns and what we primarily use our phones for. He understood pretty quickly that my daughter, my husband and I are all pretty heavy phone users, but that my son is a minor user at best. The salesman recommended that for now we don’t include my son on the family plan, but rather get him a prepaid phone loaded with minutes — the minutes cost more to use, but we won’t be charged a monthly fee. When he starts to use the phone more, we can switch him over to the family plan.

We checked into different <a href="http://cellphonefamilyplansinfo.com/"title="" >cell phone family plans my husband, daughter and myself and he recommended the “Everything Data Family – with Any Mobile, Anytime” plan. This plan has free unlimited data (perfect for me and my husband) and unlimited mobile to mobile calls, unlimited calls after 7 and unlimited texting (perfect for my daughter). I think that the unlimited mobile to mobile calls is wonderful (whoever thought of it must have a teenage) – because of this we were able to get a 1500 minute plan for the three of us.

With Sprint, we’re spending around $160 a month (plus $100 initial outlay for my son’s phone), so, not only does my phone work now, but I saved us a ton of money over AT&T! In addition, now that we have unlimited texting and unlimited mobile to mobile calls, it’s nice to know that I won’t be opening up any surprisingly exorbitant phone bills from my daughter! Sprint has made a former-AT&T customer very happy!

The Blackberry Curve 8900 is a three G phone that grabbed my attention recently. First I saw it in my boss`s hands and then with my brother who was visiting me. I got to use it for a week and was impressed. As I was choosing <a href="http://cellphonefamilyplansinfo.com/"title="" >cell phone family plans, I decided to purchase this phone.

A recent offering from RIM the 8900 is a good choice for mailing and messaging. The screen resolution is high and therefore the results are sharp and well defined. The keypad is user friendly and has a raised design which facilitates comfortable texting even when you hold it in one hand. The Curve 8900 has a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus and flash. The snaps are sharp.

There is recording feature too.The cellphone plays MP3 and AAC audio functions, the video quality is amazing. The speaker sound is petty decent too.Downloading stuff from the internet is very simple and uncomplicated. It has a 1400mAh Lithium battery and performs consistently even as you listen to music and are busy making calls. The interface is very good and the icons are uber cool and stylish. The color effects are great too.The auto focus camera easy and efficient browsing and the incomparable Wi-Fi make the curve 8900 one of the smartest phones in the market if not the best.If at all there is a let down it is the absence of 3G.It comes in three alternatives namely Vodafone , Airtel and Reliance.

Coming to the product specifications it weighs 110 grams, the size is 109x60x13.5 mm.The memory capacity is 120 MB.The talk time duration is less than 6 hours. It is Blue tooth and Wi-Fi enabled.
To summarize the set has a full QWERTY keypad and track ball navigation,it is GPRS and Wi-Fi enabled has a camera with auto focus and complete office application. My assessment is based on great looks, efficient features, user friendliness and flawless performance. Priced at INR 30000 its a decent buy and great value for money.
